While it can be a glamorous job, many folks don’t take into account the amount of time and dedication it takes to become a chef. That’s where Camp Culinary comes into help you and your family members prepare students for the reality of being a professional in the food service industry. We can also give them the foundation and skills to launch their career exploration.
Working as a professional in the food service industry is hard and demanding work, and is not for everyone.
The hours are long and demanding. Working in a kitchen is blue collar labor, hour upon hour of repetitive tasks that never seem to end, and more lifting and toting than most office workers would tolerate.
We are not in the business of crushing dreams; what we do try to do is shine a little light on the underbelly of working to become a chef. And how best to accomplish your goals.
