  Team Building
If you’re looking for a great way to boost morale, increase communication and improve teamwork, what better way than a half day out of the office spent learning new skills and playing with food? Camp Culinary team building cooking classes are a great way to bring people together to improve competence, hone problem-solving skills, build trust and have a fun gathering.

Cook up Some Fun with a Camp Culinary
Team-Building Event

For the past few years, culinary team building has been rated as the hottest meeting and events trend in the nation.

Participants like culinary team building events because they are novel, fun, accessible and provide lasting professional and personal benefits. Companies and organizations like culinary team building events because they’re highly effective, memorable and easy on the budget.

Camp Culinary team-building events provide the perfect way to bring people together to improve how they communicate, hone problem-solving skills and build trust—all while creating a fun and worthwhile outing.

Our programs feature a hands-on, instructional component that gives value-added to participants. Programs also include icebreaking events, mini-challenges and an assessment session geared toward recognizing team strengths.

Camp Culinary team building events are directed and facilitated by Owner Michael DeBoer. He is a certified chef with more than twenty year’s worth of experience guiding culinary teams in some of Boulder’s finest kitchens.

We Offer Formats to Fit Your Company

Mystery Basket
We take a time-tested culinary teaching tool and give it a team-building twist with this popular cook-off. Your group will be divided into evenly matched teams and given an identical set of base ingredients.  Each team then works together, guided by the chef instructor, to create a multiple course meal to be served to the other team.  This is the more competitive of the two types of events, but the fun part is that your competition is your judge.

Station Rotation
This event is particularly well suited for facilitating teamwork and bonding by fostering a cooperative approach with plenty of instruction.  Your organization selects from a menu from a region of the world—Italian, Chinese, Mexican—and we come together to cook it. The key here is that the group is split into numerous stations and taught to prepare a dish.  As the event progresses, each group switches to a new station.  Group members at each station are tasked with instructing the incoming members on how to prepare the food.

Keep on Cooking!

Chef Michael DeBoer will lead your group in the planning and execution of your menu. A well-prepared meal takes planning, thought, and teamwork, especially when you have no idea what you have to work with until you open your Mystery Basket. After meeting this fun challenge, the meal becomes the symbol of the team itself.

In this event, everyone cooks. Cooking is interactive and intellectually challenging, and accessible to people of all skill levels and physical abilities.  Throughout the session, participants will discover multiple ways to achieve their objectives, by working as a cohesive team, communicating clearly, planning and learning when to lead, follow or stay out of the way. The act of cooking good food together becomes the focus for sharing responsibility and making the most of each person’s individual skills.  What better way to show trust than to eat a meal that was only a thought three hours prior?  Don’t worry, Chef Michael won’t let people stray too far.

Best of all,  as with all Camp Culinary classes,  you get to eat your homework.
